Monthly Rant & Inspo – January 2026
This is a new segment that I’ve been meaning to start for a while now and as another year just rolled in, I thought its finally time. I am planning to write about a different skate part ever month. Original, right? It is NOT going to be a part released in the certain month, but just one that has been inspiring me at the time. The main purpose of this thing is to pay homage to skateboarders, filmers and videographers.
I think you got the point.

This January’s part of the month is:
Reese Forbes in Element’s “World Tour“ (2000)
This part is one Reese’s earlier appearances. Of course by the time this vid comes out he is already quite known from Dan Wolfe’s “Eastern Exporuse 3“ which is groundbreaking for its time (1996).
For quite a long time I’ve been into Reese Forbes but I had never watched this part up until recently.Maybe it was the fact that it’s an Element video and I wouldn’t say I am a big fan of their identity. Anyways, this whole video is actually pretty dope, which came as a nice surprise to me.
The first time I saw the part I was shocked to discover that it was edited to a Dinosaur Jr. song. It was one from my favorite album as well so naturally I was super stoked. Reese is actually one of those people who had been really lucky with the music for his parts as it would always suit him really well + the songs by themselves are all amazing. From Talking Heads to 50 Cent… wow!
Obviously as it is a tour video it has a lot of park footage from demos. I know the stigma behind all that but honestly I dont think it matters for this part. The thing about Reese is just showcasing pure power. It doesn’t really matter if it is park or street to me. Me and Marto were talking about him once and he said “He pretty much made a career off his ollie“ and it’s pretty much true. Arguably has the greatest ollie of all time!
Another thing I love about this part is the footwear. The short-lived Vita was a company that Reese rode for as well as people like Jason Dill and Tim O’Connor. You could guess it was a pretty hip company. Personally I love how they look as they have a lowkey hiking vibe. They look great on film, that’s for sure!

I have much more to say but i recon nobody would get to it anyways. Hopefully you find something you enjoy in this part!
